The primary circulation objective of the Library Media Program is to provide maximum access to library materials by students and staff.
Books/items are checked out to students for a two-week period and can be renewed unless requested by another student or staff member. Students may take out as many books/items as wanted unless their borrowing privileges have been restricted (see below).
Students' borrowing privileges are not cancelled due to overdue books/items. Overdue notices are sent out periodically to classrooms. When necessary, a phone call/email will be made to parents to make them aware of an exceedingly overdue situation. The phone call/email may be followed up with a written note. At this point, students' borrowing privileges may be restricted.
When books/items are returned damaged (not able to be circulated) a letter/email requesting payment will be sent home. Any time there is a necessity for payment, teachers and administration are consulted as to whether it is financially feasible for the family to make payment.
Items not returned by a designated date at the end of the school year will be considered lost and a letter/email requesting payment will be sent to the student's home.
