Mrs. Sullivan

Welcome to my 2016-2017 Art Page!

Welcome parents and students to my art webpage. My name is Mrs. Kathy Sullivan, I am excited to be here for my sixth year at North School, as the full-time art teacher.

During the year, students will be creating several works of art with various mediums for age appropriate lessons following our Londonderry school district's curriculum striving to meet grade level benchmarks. They will learn art related vocabulary that corresponds to each project along with learning the history and works of many famous artists. I will be saving most of their work for the annual art show in the spring. The show will coincide with our Artist in Resident culminating event on Tuesday, May 15, 2017.

Special news!!
We received a grant this year for a continuation to last year's art-in-residency of West African Drumming and Dancing! Thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Laporte, Mrs. Thompson and myself. We wrote the grant last spring and just received the official word that we got most of the money we requested. We have a couple of fundraisers this year to raise the remainder of funds to cover the total cost. We are very excited for this residency and have planned year-long activities to coincide with our West African theme.

A grateful thank you goes out to
NH State Council on the Arts   for awarding our school this grant award. We appreciate their passion and guidance leading us to this wonderful opportunity to enrich our curriculum and provide our students with a unique learning experience.

Fundraiser Update
We will again be doing the art fundraiser with Art To Remember. We had a lot of success with this program last year and raised money for our 4th and 5th grade Artist in Resident program. We plan to continue using this wonderful art fundraiser each year to help bring new artists to our school.  It is a great experience for our students to learn and experience art from a professional working artist in other mediums. The current time frame will be for the spring on brochures with original student art work and products. Please note there will not be a separate release form to use student artwork, as it has been incorporated into our student handbook.

Students are well underway with their art projects. They have created some beautiful colorful pieces showing their unique ideas and creative craftsmanship. You will see a custom brochure with your child's artwork coming home this spring!

You can contact me with any questions or concerns. I can be reached by email at or you can leave me a message on the North School art department voicemail.
